Resonant and Haier Biomedical launch eco-friendly lab centrifuge

Resonant Clinical Solutions and Haier Biomedical have unveiled the LX-60T100R, a benchtop centrifuge utilizing natural hydrocarbon refrigerant. By adopting R290 gas, the device slashes global warming potential from 1,400 to approximately 3, positioning it ahead of stringent F-gas regulations set to take effect in Europe and the U.S.

The partnership between the Leesburg-based clinical supply expert and the Chinese laboratory equipment manufacturer aimed to solve a critical regulatory gap. As authorities move to phase out traditional fluorinated greenhouse gases, laboratories face an urgent need for sustainable infrastructure. The LX-60T100R arrives two years before these legislative deadlines, offering pharmaceutical sponsors and contract research organizations a compliant alternative that maintains high performance.

Beyond environmental compliance, the unit addresses specific workflow bottlenecks. It reaches 4 °C in roughly five minutes and features a 7-inch touchscreen designed for glove-friendly operation. The device, which weighs 46 kilograms, is engineered for quiet, low-vibration operation in shared lab spaces. Resonant Clinical Solutions holds the exclusive rights to rent or sell the unit globally—excluding China—through November 2027, with the initial 220–240 V model available immediately and a 110 V version scheduled for early 2027.
