Chrysler Recalls 265,000 Vehicles Over Steering Failure Risk

Chrysler Recalls 265,000 Vehicles Over Steering Failure Risk

The safety campaign targets specific Ram ProMaster cargo vans produced between 2022 and 2026, alongside select Ram 3500 electric vehicles manufactured from 2024 through 2026. The vulnerability stems from the potential for moisture to compromise the integrity of the vehicle's electrical connections, effectively disabling the assist mechanism.

To address the hazard, authorized dealers are instructed to inspect the affected wiring harnesses and electronic power steering gear. Technicians will perform replacements where necessary at no cost to owners. The manufacturer is expected to coordinate directly with customers regarding the repair schedule.
