Jones, who joined the firm as special counsel in 2012 and ascended to partner in 2017, brings a deep background in securities offerings, mergers, and corporate governance to his new post. Managing partner Bill Hines described the appointment as a strategic move to bolster the firm’s influence within the local business and legal communities. Before his tenure at Jones Walker, Jones practiced corporate law in Silicon Valley and worked as an investment banker at Stephens Inc.
Brandon Black, who has led the office since 2016, will depart the firm to become Chief Legal Officer at Cajun Industries in January 2027. The two partners are currently working in tandem to finalize the leadership transition through the end of the year. Jones Walker remains one of the largest 140 law firms in the country, maintaining a footprint that spans eleven states and the District of Columbia.
