The sets, which feature an embossed Silver Oak wordmark, are designed to bridge the gap between high-end design and social utility. By moving into the gaming space, the winery aims to reinforce its role in communal rituals, positioning the board as a centerpiece for gatherings rather than a static display piece. Both companies emphasized that the boards are built for portability, intended to accompany weekend trips or evening dinners.
Silver Oak CMO Lauren Larrabee noted that the project seeks to move beyond traditional gift-giving, offering an object that can anchor family traditions. Throwing Doubles founder Brittany Weinke echoed this sentiment, arguing that both wine and backgammon benefit from a contemporary, less rigid aesthetic. The limited-edition collaboration will be available starting October 15 exclusively through the Silver Oak website while supplies last.
