Since its establishment in 2013, MySep has carved out a niche in the oil and gas sector by developing software for upstream production, LNG processing, and petrochemical refining. The company’s tools—MySep Studio and MySep Engine—leverage research-based correlations to predict critical performance metrics such as separation efficiency, pressure drops, and carryover. By absorbing these assets, Datacor aims to provide more comprehensive solutions for engineers tasked with designing new separators or evaluating the reliability of existing equipment.
Tom Jackson, president of Datacor, noted that the acquisition aligns with a broader strategy of investing in specialized engineering expertise. For MySep founder Guy Hellinx, the transition offers a pathway to scale the firm’s proprietary modeling tech alongside Datacor’s wider software infrastructure. Beyond the technical synergies, the move grants Datacor a stronger operational footprint across the Asia Pacific and Middle East markets, regions where MySep has historically maintained a significant user base.
