Florida Poly Secures Fourth Spot Nationally for Career Outcomes

Florida Polytechnic University has claimed the fourth position in WalletHub’s 2027 College & University Rankings for career outcomes, outpacing elite institutions including MIT, Yale, and Harvard. This marks the third consecutive year the Lakeland-based STEM university has secured a top-tier standing in the national assessment of graduate success.

The rankings, which evaluated 738 institutions, measured success through return on investment, median post-graduation salaries, and the speed at which alumni secure full-time employment. Florida Poly alumni currently earn an average of $93,600 five years after graduation, the highest figure within the State University System and 33% above the statewide average. Dr. Devin Stephenson, the university's president, attributed these metrics to an academic model that prioritizes hands-on industry experience alongside rigorous technical training.

This recognition follows a period of rapid institutional expansion. Enrollment has reached a record 2,300 students, representing a 35% increase over the past two years. To support this growth, the university recently introduced bachelor’s degrees in aerospace engineering and biomedical sciences. Plans are also underway for the construction of the 138,400-square-foot Student Achievement Center, slated to break ground next spring, which will centralize career planning and professional development resources on campus.
