The New York-based fintech company aims to dismantle the rigid settlement cycles that currently hinder private credit and alternative investment products. By providing a secondary market for tokenized fund interests, Fission allows eligible holders to bypass traditional wait times. According to founder and CEO Jonathan Shaffer, the platform is designed to transform fund interests into more versatile assets that can function as collateral in broader lending markets.
Franklin Bi, General Partner at Pantera Capital, noted that liquidity is the final hurdle for the digital transition of investment funds. The $10 million injection will support Fission’s expansion into a wider range of asset classes and deepen its institutional integrations. The funding round also drew participation from Circle Ventures, New Form, gumi Cryptos Capital, Borderless Capital, and GTS CEO Ari Rubenstein. With millions of dollars in redemptions already processed, the company is scaling its capacity to ensure that digital assets retain the necessary compliance controls required by regulated securities markets.
