Simpson Manufacturing Authorizes $1 Billion Stock Buyback

Simpson Manufacturing’s board has authorized a $1 billion share repurchase program, a move that replaces the company’s previous $200 million plan. The decision signals a significant expansion in capital allocation strategy, following the firm’s expenditure of $165 million on stock buybacks earlier this year.

Simpson Manufacturing Authorizes $1 Billion Stock Buyback

Chief Executive Mike Olosky pointed to the company’s consistent cash flow generation and current financial strength as the primary drivers behind the board's vote. The manufacturer of construction hardware currently maintains a market capitalization of $7.55 billion, with approximately 40.8 million shares held in the public float.

Investors reacted with caution to the announcement, as the company’s stock price slipped 1.2% to close at $181.99 during Monday's regular trading session. Trading remained flat in the after-hours market following the disclosure of the expanded repurchase authorization.
