The company reported a third-quarter profit of $157.8 million, or $1.03 per share, more than doubling the $70.5 million earned during the same period last year. Adjusted earnings reached $1.23 per share, comfortably beating the $1.03 consensus estimate from analysts polled by FactSet. Revenue figures also exceeded forecasts, which had pinned sales at $925.4 million.
Growth was broad-based across the company's core segments. The materials solutions unit saw a 16% revenue increase to $404.1 million, while the advanced purity solutions business surged 31% to $604.9 million. Chief Executive Dave Reeder credited the performance to the company's ability to capitalize on the increasing complexity of semiconductor manufacturing and sustained investment in leading-edge technologies.
Looking toward the final quarter, Entegris issued an optimistic outlook. The company projects adjusted earnings between $1.32 and $1.40 per share on sales of up to $1.06 billion, figures that sit above analyst expectations of $1.12 per share and $961.3 million in revenue respectively.
