Tech and Healthcare Stocks Tumble After Earnings Misses

A volatile after-hours session saw Intel, Amazon, Stryker, and Roblox face sharp sell-offs as investors reacted to underwhelming third-quarter results. From cooling PC demand to ballooning AI expenditures and missed growth targets, the market punished companies that failed to meet high expectations for revenue and user engagement.

Tech and Healthcare Stocks Tumble After Earnings Misses

Intel led the slide, with shares plummeting 22% to $71.63 following a bleak forecast for personal computer sales. The chipmaker’s inability to project stability in its core market triggered immediate investor retreat. Meanwhile, Amazon saw its stock dip 7% to $226.91 as contracting free cash flow amplified anxieties surrounding the massive capital outlays required for artificial intelligence infrastructure.

The broader market weakness extended into healthcare and gaming. Stryker shares fell 12% to $275 after the medical device manufacturer lowered its full-year outlook, citing performance that failed to hit internal benchmarks. Roblox faced a similar fate, dropping 16% to $43.84 as the platform grappled with a noticeable decline in user activity and core engagement metrics.
