The Japanese manufacturer generated 239.92 billion yen in revenue for the six-month period, up from 216.42 billion yen in the previous year. Despite this growth in top-line figures, rising costs impacted profitability metrics. Operating profit dipped to 21.54 billion yen compared to 22.73 billion yen a year earlier, while pretax profit narrowed to 22.82 billion yen from 25.27 billion yen.
Earnings per share mirrored the broader decline in profitability, dropping to 100.73 yen from 113.77 yen in the prior year. These results, which adhere to Japanese accounting standards, reflect the broader fiscal challenges the company faced throughout the first half of the calendar cycle.
