The Japanese steelmaker saw revenue contract slightly to 75.23 billion yen, down from 76.60 billion yen a year earlier. While the bottom line improved on a per-share basis to 40.15 yen from 31.62 yen, operational performance faced significant pressure. Operating profit fell sharply to 910 million yen, compared to 3.02 billion yen in the previous year.
Financial statements reveal a transition into a pretax loss of 182 million yen, a stark reversal from the 2.93 billion yen pretax profit reported in 2025. These results, prepared under Japanese accounting standards, reflect the volatility currently impacting the domestic steel sector as cost structures shift.
