The clinical laboratory company allegedly offered executives free entertainment from July 2013 to August 2022, including tickets for suite seats at New York Giants games. The lawsuit said the benefits were intended to generate referrals for Quest and were allegedly paid for by federal healthcare programs.
It also alleged that Quest submitted false claims for laboratory services subsequently paid for by Medicare and Medicaid programs in New York and New Jersey. The settlement resolves the allegations; the company denied wrongdoing.
Quest has also entered into a five-year federal Corporate Integrity Agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Department. The company said it agreed to the settlement in 2025, more than a year ago, to put the matter behind it, while denying “any allegations of wrongdoing or violation of the law.”
