The May delivery tally was anchored by 51 units of the 737 Max and six 787 Dreamliners, with major carriers such as Southwest Airlines, Virgin Australia, and SMBC Leasing receiving new hardware. These additions bring Boeing’s total output for the first five months of the year to 250 aircraft, nearly 200 of which belong to the 737 Max family.
New business activity remained positive, anchored by 17 orders for the Max and 10 for the 787. When accounting for cancellations, the company’s net order count reached 295 for the year-to-date period. Although this remains the second-highest tally for a five-month span in recent history, it falls short of the 512 net orders secured during the same timeframe in the prior year.
