The approved plan centers on the construction of approximately 3,032 residential units, with 574 designated as affordable housing. Beyond the housing stock, the development will integrate retail and commercial space, public green areas, and transit connectivity to the MARTA system and the BeltLine. Renewal Development Group, led by CEO Jack Afik, secured the rezoning after extensive coordination with city officials, including Mayor Andre Dickens and Councilmember Antonio Lewis.
"This approval represents a defining milestone in touching people's lives in Southwest Atlanta," Afik said, noting that the project aims to turn a long-underutilized site into a dense, mixed-use hub. The developer, which currently controls 45 acres of land in the area, worked closely with neighborhood associations including Capitol View, Sylvan Hills, and Perkerson Park to tailor the design to local needs. With the rezoning now in place, the group moves toward the implementation phase of a project intended to provide lasting economic and social value for the surrounding communities.
