Guaranteed Roof Diverts 500 Tons of Shingle Waste from Landfills

Five hundred tons of asphalt shingles have been saved from local landfills, redirected by a service expansion in the Southeastern United States. By opting for roof rejuvenation over traditional tear-offs, homeowners are extending the functional life of existing structures while avoiding the environmental toll of premature construction waste disposal.

The milestone centers on the application of Roof Maxx, a plant-based soy oil treatment that penetrates the asphalt core of aging shingles. This process restores the flexibility and waterproofing properties lost to UV exposure and weather cycles, offering a viable alternative to the industry-standard "rip and replace" approach. Each treatment guarantees an additional five years of roof life, with the potential for three consecutive applications to extend a roof's total lifespan by up to 15 years.

Matthew Weeks, CEO of Guaranteed Roof, frames the achievement as a shift in community perspective regarding home maintenance lifecycles. As construction costs rise, the company reports that homeowners are increasingly prioritizing sustainable, cost-effective solutions that align environmental goals with fiscal responsibility. By keeping materials on the home rather than sending them to waste sites, the firm aims to disrupt long-standing industry norms across the Southeast.
