Geely Farizon Unveils Methanol-Electric Fleet for Hong Kong

At the 2026 International Automotive and Supply Chain Expo, Geely Farizon debuted a comprehensive green mobility ecosystem designed to navigate Hong Kong’s high-density infrastructure challenges. By integrating methanol-electric and pure electric technologies, the firm aims to support the city’s 2050 carbon neutrality goal through locally adapted commercial transit solutions.

The showcase at AsiaWorld-Expo centers on a versatile product lineup, including the debut of a Hong Kong-tailored electric double-decker bus. The company’s U12M methanol bus, having already secured an emission exemption from the Environmental Protection Department, is set for commercial launch this August. This move serves as a critical validation for Farizon’s broader strategy to scale methanol-electric technology in markets with stringent environmental mandates.

Beyond public transit, the group is aggressively expanding its logistics footprint. During the event, Geely Farizon solidified a strategic partnership with CaoCao to deploy 100,000 Robovan units by 2030, leveraging AI-powered systems to optimize urban delivery networks. This initiative builds on the company's existing momentum in the region, where its SV taxi fleet has already seen batch deliveries to operators like Big Bee.

With a sales network spanning 64 countries, Geely Farizon currently leads China’s new energy commercial vehicle export sector. By treating Hong Kong as a testing ground for its integrated transport-energy model, the company plans to export these localized, high-efficiency mobility ecosystems to global markets, positioning its methanol-electric vessels and autonomous vehicles as the standard for future smart city infrastructure.
