The Exercise Coach Marks 25 Years with Healthspan Expansion

As Americans increasingly prioritize long-term mobility and cognitive sharpness over simple longevity, The Exercise Coach is marking its 25th anniversary by rolling out Strength Plus nationwide. The expansion shifts the franchise’s focus from basic fitness toward an integrated model of balance, brain health, and assisted stretching for aging adults.

Ranked 8th in Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500, the company now operates more than 225 locations across the country. While the brand built its reputation on 20-minute, twice-weekly strength sessions using proprietary Exerbotics technology, the new platform targets the specific physical demands of healthy aging. CEO Brian Cygan noted that the industry conversation has moved toward healthspan—the period of life spent in good physical and mental health.

The Strength Plus platform introduces three core pillars: coach-assisted stretching to improve posture and mobility, balance transformation training designed to reduce fall risks, and cognitive fitness integration that pairs physical movement with brain-based exercises. Central to this approach is the new Exerbotics Balance Tracker, which measures cognitive performance and stability simultaneously. These additions arrive as demand grows for muscle-preservation strategies, particularly among adults over 40 utilizing GLP-1 medications who require sustainable ways to maintain physical function. By layering these services onto its existing AI-driven workouts, the firm aims to position itself as a specialized leader in the fitness franchise market.
