GAC INPOW Launches 587Ah Semi-Solid-State Battery in Munich

At Intersolar Europe 2026, GAC Group subsidiary INPOW Battery unveiled the world's first mass-produced 587Ah semi-solid-state energy storage cell. This debut signals the company's aggressive entry into the European market, paired with a utility-scale 6.25MWh liquid-cooled system designed for grid-level renewable integration.

The new 587Ah cell utilizes a proprietary composite oxide-polymer electrolyte system that reduces free electrolyte content to under 0.01 percent. This technical shift aims to bridge the gap between high-capacity output and the safety standards typically reserved for solid-state technology. During extreme stress testing, the cells withstood compression ten times the national standard, hour-long exposure to 200°C, and direct flames exceeding 1,000°C without catching fire or exploding.

Building on this hardware, INPOW introduced a 6.25MWh liquid-cooled energy storage solution. The system incorporates AI-powered predictive diagnostics, capable of identifying potential risks 20 days in advance and issuing thermal runaway warnings 24 hours before a failure. To support this technology locally, General Manager XU Junhai confirmed plans to open a dedicated sales and technical service center in Europe this October. This facility will handle spare parts supply and project development, marking the first phase of the company's international expansion strategy.
