Arellano joins the firm fresh from his role as Austin District Deputy District Engineer at TxDOT. During his time there, he gained a reputation for integrating technology into civil engineering, most notably through an AI-driven traffic management system that cut secondary crash rates by 29%. His mandate at Egis spans the full spectrum of the company’s regional civil infrastructure business, encompassing talent recruitment, operations, and community engagement efforts.

U.S. CEO Terry Ruhl highlighted Arellano’s history of managing complex, large-scale projects and his ability to navigate diverse stakeholder interests as primary drivers for the hire. Beyond technical operations, Arellano is recognized for his work on social initiatives, including programs addressing homelessness and human trafficking, which the company intends to align with its broader community impact goals. His appointment marks a strategic push for Egis, which currently holds a top-10 global ranking in the transportation sector, as it looks to solidify its footprint in the American South Central corridor.
