The new Flights page serves as a centralized hub for route planning, weight and balance calculations, and fuel management. By consolidating these tools into a single interface, the update aligns the mobile experience for Apple devices with the Garmin Pilot Web platform. Quickset cards allow pilots to input data rapidly, providing a streamlined workflow that replaces the previous, more fragmented trip planning module.
Garmin is also broadening the footprint of its SmartCharts solution, which will be available to Premium subscribers in Canada and Mexico starting in August. This expansion includes advanced features such as Continuous Descent Final Approach (CDFA) paths and cold-weather altitude corrections for airports in the region. For those navigating the busy airspace of EAA AirVenture, the app now incorporates enhanced FISK VFR Arrival procedures. These updates include clearer labeling and specific runway diagrams to assist pilots during the high-traffic event. Beginning July 9, users can load the FISK procedure directly into their avionics, enabling autopilot coupling for improved precision during the arrival.
