Nuremberg's CINEMAGNUM to Debut World’s Largest Cinema LED Screen

Nuremberg’s landmark CINECITTA' multiplex is set to host the world’s largest cinema LED display. By fall 2026, the venue’s flagship CINEMAGNUM auditorium will feature a 30-meter-wide screen powered by Tricorne Premium LED technology, marking a significant transition toward high-dynamic-range exhibition standards in the European market.

The installation project, managed by GDC Technology in partnership with German integrator ECCO Cine Supply and Service, replaces traditional projection with a wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling display. The massive canvas will boast 8K+ native resolution, utilizing micro-perforated panels designed to allow cinema-grade audio to pass directly through the screen. This engineering feat aims to solve a long-standing challenge in digital cinema: achieving perfect sound-from-picture synchronization without sacrificing audio fidelity or visual density.

Beyond its sheer scale, the move signals a broader industry shift toward LED-based exhibition. Unlike conventional projection, this system provides superior contrast and brightness even in ambient-light conditions. According to GDC Technology CEO Man Nang Chong, the technology delivers a fully immersive experience that meets Hollywood’s DCI Direct View HDR standards. The collaboration is already gaining momentum, with 25 units of Tricorne Premium LED deployed or ordered globally within six months of the technology's launch.
