While no formal contract has been signed, the selection marks a definitive step in NATO’s effort to modernize its situational awareness capabilities. Saab’s system, built on the Bombardier Global 6500 platform, integrates the Erieye Extended Range radar with a multi-domain command and control suite. This technology provides long-range detection of stealth threats, ballistic missiles, and drones, even in environments saturated with electronic jamming.

Saab President and CEO Micael Johansson expressed confidence in the platform's adaptability and performance. The company will now enter discussions with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency to finalize procurement terms. Once deployed, these systems will provide the Alliance with persistent monitoring across land, sea, and air domains.
