ALKEME Insurance Expands Into MGA Market With Virtue Risk Acquisition

Ladera Ranch-based ALKEME Insurance has acquired New York’s Virtue Risk Partners, a strategic move that pushes the Top 25 brokerage into the managing general agent space. The deal integrates Virtue’s decade-long specialty underwriting portfolio, covering casualty, professional, and environmental risks, into ALKEME’s national retail platform.

Virtue Risk Partners, headquartered in Pearl River, brings more than 65 years of combined experience to the brokerage. Unlike a standard retail agency acquisition, this deal provides ALKEME with the infrastructure to deliver customized insurance products and specialized claims support to contractors, consultants, and engineers nationwide. The acquisition aligns with ALKEME’s aggressive growth strategy, which has seen the firm complete over 80 acquisitions since its founding in 2020.

CEO Curtis Barton highlighted the shift in partnership dynamics, noting that the move grants the company deeper control over program underwriting rather than solely acting as a distributor. Joseph Valenza, National Director of Programs at Virtue, stated the integration will leverage ALKEME’s existing scale to accelerate the growth of their underwriting solutions. The firm now operates from more than 90 locations across 30 states, maintaining its status as one of the fastest-growing brokers in the United States.
