Brossart brings over 30 years of municipal experience to the college, where he will oversee financial operations, human resources, information technology, and campus infrastructure. President Jeremy Martin noted that the transition is a natural fit, comparing the complexities of managing a college campus to running a small city. Brossart will work alongside the Board of Trustees to maintain the college's long-term financial stability and operational standards.
He succeeds Terry Dennis, a veteran administrator retiring after 37 years with the institution. Dennis will remain on campus through the October Board of Trustees meeting to facilitate a handover. During his tenure with Lakeland, Brossart managed budgets for 17 departments and led significant infrastructure and economic growth projects. A Certified Public Accountant, he will balance his final months as the city's finance director with his upcoming institutional responsibilities to ensure continuity for both organizations.
