Launched under the Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) programme, the Pan-African Film Fund will deploy equity, quasi-equity, and structured financing to support the full audiovisual value chain. The capital is earmarked for content production, digital streaming infrastructure, and the development of post-production facilities. By partnering with global studios and distributors, the fund intends to create a pipeline of bankable projects that prioritize export-oriented storytelling.
FEDA and One Street Studios will operate as co-general partners, blending institutional finance with specialized industry expertise. One Street Studios, known for its integrated model that links financing with creative development, will focus on bringing underrepresented African narratives to international screens. This collaboration seeks to empower creators to maintain ownership of their content while scaling production capacity for a global audience. The fund represents a significant effort to move beyond localized production, aiming instead for long-term economic growth and cultural influence across the continent.
