Roadzen Expands European Footprint with $15 Million Insurance Deal

A European managing general agent specializing in short-term car rental coverage will soon join Roadzen's portfolio, marking a $15 million expansion into a high-volume insurance market. The acquired firm currently processes approximately 800,000 policies annually, anchoring Roadzen's strategy to scale its technology-enabled insurance offerings across the continent.

The deal structure splits the $15 million investment into two equal parts: an immediate payment and a three-year earn-out tied to specific performance milestones. To mitigate impact on existing investors, the sellers may opt for equity in Roadzen India rather than cash, a move designed to avoid direct dilution for Nasdaq shareholders.

Financial projections for the acquired business estimate annual revenue between $18 million and $20 million by the fiscal year ending March 2027. During that same period, the unit is expected to contribute between $1.6 million and $2 million in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization.
