The deal signals a significant expansion for the New York-based company, which operates the Helios data center campus in Dickens County, just 60 miles from Lubbock. Beyond stadium signage, the agreement creates a structured pipeline for Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) opportunities for Red Raider student-athletes. The collaboration also aims to foster long-term economic development in West Texas through research initiatives, workforce training, and potential joint projects involving artificial intelligence.
Texas Tech Athletics Director Kirby Hocutt emphasized that the partnership seeks to preserve the stadium's legacy while modernizing the fan experience. While the venue has historically honored the university's third president, Clifford B. Jones, school officials confirmed that plans to commemorate the Jones family’s contribution will be shared at a later date. Galaxy CEO Mike Novogratz noted that the alignment reflects the company’s commitment to local hiring and infrastructure investment in the region. The Red Raiders are scheduled to debut the newly branded stadium on September 5, 2026, in a home opener against Abilene Christian.
