AB InBev Eyes Growth as World Cup Lifts Q2 Beer Volumes

The FIFA soccer championship provided a critical tailwind for Anheuser-Busch InBev, with analysts anticipating a 4.4% organic revenue increase when the brewer reports second-quarter results this Thursday. The boost from global tournament viewership is expected to sustain positive volume trends despite a modest 0.7% growth rate in total beer sold.

Market consensus points to organic EBITDA growth of 4.6%, climbing from $5.3 billion in the prior year. While volume recovery remains incremental, the company relies heavily on its pricing strategy to drive the bottom line. JPMorgan analysts project that price-mix contributions will account for more than 4% of total sales growth, signaling that the brewer is successfully passing costs to consumers to outpace simple volume gains.

Investors are watching for signs of sustained demand in the United States, a key market that has been central to the stock's recovery. AB InBev shares recently reclaimed prepandemic levels, trading at 73.72 euros as of Tuesday. With consistent delivery and robust EBITDA, the company appears positioned to maintain its current performance trajectory, provided global appetite for its core brands—including Bud Light and Corona—remains resilient through the second half of the year.
