The Houston-based firm reported net income of $785 million, or $1.95 per share, up from $726 million in the same period last year. Adjusted earnings of $2.02 per share successfully outperformed the $1.98 consensus estimate provided by FactSet. Despite these earnings gains, total revenue rose 4% to $6.68 billion, falling slightly short of the $6.71 billion projection anticipated by analysts.
Management cited weaker-than-expected service volumes as the primary driver for the downward adjustment, narrowing the full-year revenue target to a range of $26.3 billion to $26.5 billion. This updated guidance sits approximately 0.6% below the company’s previous forecast, aligning closely with current market expectations. While core pricing growth of 5.7% and increased income from renewable energy and recycling operations provided a buffer, the contraction in waste disposal activity remains a persistent headwind.
