Avantor Raises 2026 Outlook After Stronger-Than-Expected Second Quarter

Avantor, Inc. outperformed analyst expectations for the second quarter of 2026, reporting net sales of $1.69 billion. The Radnor-based firm saw its VWR Distribution and Services segment return to positive organic growth during the quarter, helping offset a 5.6% organic decline in its Bioscience and Medtech Products division. Total net sales rose 0.5% compared to the same period in 2025, though organic sales saw a slight dip of 0.4% when accounting for foreign currency fluctuations.

Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Ligner credited the company's internal "Revival" program for the improved operational performance. The business generated $142.8 million in free cash flow, a portion of which was utilized to repay $112.1 million in debt. Following these results, Avantor adjusted its 2026 organic revenue growth forecast to a range of -0.5% to +0.5%, up from its previous projection of -2.5% to -0.5%. Adjusted earnings per share guidance was also nudged upward to between $0.80 and $0.83.
