Production metrics across the company’s assets in Peru and Canada showed mixed results. Copper output reached 28,267 metric tons, a decline from the 29,956 tons reported in the same period last year, though performance improved sequentially from the 27,929 tons produced in the first quarter of 2026. This uptick was largely driven by increased mill throughput in British Columbia, which compensated for planned reductions in Peru. Gold production dipped to 51,234 troy ounces, hindered by lower milled gold grades.
The Toronto-based miner is aggressively expanding its North American footprint following the $1.48 billion acquisition of Arizona Sonoran in June. This move bolsters the Copper World project in southern Arizona, which remains on track for formal sanctioning later this year. Management expects these developments to push annual copper production past 250,000 tons by 2030, with further upside potential reaching 350,000 tons through the staged development of the Cactus project. For the remainder of 2026, the company maintains its guidance, targeting total copper output between 110,000 and 138,000 tons alongside 217,000 to 272,000 ounces of gold.
