Intuit Faces Securities Lawsuit After Sharp Revenue Guidance Cut

A 20 percent single-day stock collapse following a downward revision of TurboTax growth projections has triggered a securities class action against Intuit Inc. Shareholders who acquired the company's stock between August 22, 2025, and May 20, 2026, are now seeking to lead litigation over alleged misleading disclosures.

The legal action, spearheaded by Levi & Korsinsky, LLP, centers on the company’s May 20, 2026, disclosure of lackluster tax season results. Intuit reduced its full-year revenue growth guidance for its TurboTax division from 8% to 7%, a move that wiped $76.86 off the share price in one session. By the market close on May 21, the stock settled at $307.07, marking a significant departure from the elevated price targets held by analysts earlier in the year.

Wall Street firms have since aggressively recalibrated their positions. Susquehanna, KeyBanc, RBC Capital Markets, and Truist Securities all slashed their price targets, citing specific vulnerabilities in the low-end DIY tax filer segment and increasing competitive pressures. Analysts noted that the company’s previous optimism regarding AI-driven growth failed to materialize against the reality of a shrinking user base among price-sensitive filers. The lawsuit alleges that these adverse business trends were obscured from investors throughout the class period, leading to an artificial inflation of stock value. Interested parties have until September 8, 2026, to apply for lead plaintiff status.
