The lawsuit, filed by Hagens Berman on behalf of investors who purchased securities between February 19, 2025, and May 12, 2026, centers on claims that Wix overstated the benefits of its AI-driven strategy while masking ballooning operational expenses. According to the complaint, the company struggled to counter the rise of 'vibe coding'—a trend allowing users to build apps via plain-language instructions—by rushing to integrate AI tools that ultimately drained its financial reserves.
Financial reports revealed a stark reality: non-GAAP operating margins plummeted from 21% to 5% as sales and marketing expenses surged 88% year-over-year. Management eventually admitted during a May 2026 earnings call that the Harmony platform suffered from significant functional gaps, causing professional developers to abandon the ecosystem for competing tools. Investors have until September 22, 2026, to apply for the role of lead plaintiff in the ongoing litigation.
