Emerging Therapies and Competitive Dynamics

Competition is intensifying as late-stage candidates move closer to potential commercialization. Abivax’s obefazimod (ABX464), an oral small-molecule candidate, is currently in Phase III trials for ulcerative colitis, utilizing a unique mechanism that modulates immune responses via microRNA-124. Simultaneously, Merck is advancing Tulisokibart (MK-7240), an antibody acquired through its purchase of Prometheus Biosciences, which has demonstrated promising results in both Crohn's and ulcerative colitis studies.
