Hornbuckle arrives at the Broomfield-based company with a track record of managing large-scale, integrated resorts and driving digital innovation. As the head of MGM, he led the company through a significant shift toward diversified, guest-centric business models. Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz pointed to this specific expertise as a catalyst for the company’s current efforts to refine the mountain journey, making it more personalized and seamless for skiers and travelers.

Beyond his corporate background, Hornbuckle maintains a personal tie to the industry through a residence in Park City and a long-standing interest in the outdoor leisure sector. His resume includes serving as Chair of the U.S. Travel Association and playing a pivotal role in the expansion of sports entertainment in Las Vegas, including the arrival of the NHL’s Golden Knights and the NFL’s Raiders. As the tenth member of the board, he joins a group that includes Rob Katz, Sue Decker, and Michele Romanow, bringing a perspective honed in the high-stakes world of global tourism to the ski industry.
