The performance was largely anchored by the E-Infrastructure Solutions segment, which saw revenue jump 192% year-over-year. CEO Joe Cutillo noted that mission-critical projects—specifically data centers, manufacturing hubs, and semiconductor facilities—now account for 92% of the segment's backlog. While the company is actively reallocating resources from its Transportation segment to capture higher-margin opportunities in infrastructure, the strategic pivot appears to be paying off in bottom-line growth.
Sterling closed the quarter with a signed backlog of $4.33 billion and a total addressable work pool exceeding $7 billion. This visibility into future contracts led management to lift its 2026 outlook. The company now expects full-year adjusted EBITDA between $891 million and $916 million, signaling continued confidence in its ability to scale operations amid high market demand.
