Matt Fontenot, executive director of the McNeese Athletic Foundation, noted that the collaboration aligns the university's mission of providing championship opportunities for student-athletes with the council's commitment to regional workforce stability. HASC Louisiana, which has operated in the state since 1955, provides essential training and occupational health services to the local industrial sector.

Sarita Scheufens, president of HASC Louisiana, emphasized that the agreement builds on the university's role as a regional anchor. By connecting classroom experiences with industrial career pathways, the two organizations plan to ensure that Calcasieu Parish residents receive priority access to high-wage employment opportunities. The partnership represents a strategic effort to cultivate local talent while supporting the continued expansion of McNeese State’s athletic and academic programs.
