Scale Computing Launches Imaging Service to Bypass Hardware Bottlenecks

Facing persistent supply chain delays and rigid procurement cycles, Austin-based Scale Computing has introduced its SC//HyperCore Imaging Service. The new offering allows IT departments to bypass lengthy hardware lead times by deploying the company's virtualization suite directly onto their existing, qualified infrastructure assets instead of purchasing new equipment.

The service addresses a common industry pain point where IT projects stall due to unavailable hardware. By enabling organizations to repurpose machines they already own, Scale Computing aims to eliminate forced hardware refreshes that inflate capital expenditure. Craig Theriac, Vice President of Product Management, noted that traditional platforms often lock users into proprietary cycles, whereas this approach prioritizes flexibility and speed of deployment.

To support this shift, the company also unveiled the Authorized Imaging Partner program. This initiative allows distributors, OEMs, and managed service providers to deliver pre-imaged, ready-to-run appliances. Beyond mitigating supply chain risks, the service is designed to lower total cost of ownership by removing the complexity of separate hypervisor licensing and storage management tools. The imaging service is available immediately, providing a fixed-cost path for enterprises looking to modernize their infrastructure without waiting for new shipments.
