Skye Africa Intelligence Partners with ECSA-HC to Scale AI Health Tools

Skye Africa Intelligence and the East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community have signed a memorandum of understanding to deploy AI-driven health solutions across nine member states. Announced at the 16th ECSA-HC Best Practice Forum in Eswatini, the partnership aims to bridge critical gaps in disease surveillance and youth mental health.

The collaboration unites Skye Africa Intelligence—a joint venture between Valio Technologies and Brand Engagement Network—with the inter-governmental health body to establish a Regional AI Health Development Lab. This hub will focus on customizing digital tools for diverse jurisdictions, including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe. Central to the initiative is the adaptation of a student mental health platform developed alongside Nelson Mandela University, intended to address a stark disparity in care where, according to ECSA-HC Director-General Dr. Ntuli A. Kapologwe, only nine out of every 100 youths currently access support.

Beyond mental health, the alliance will integrate eYakho Health and Skye Salud technologies into regional systems to refine disease tracking and outbreak preparedness. Eswatini’s Minister of Health, Honorable Mduduzi Matsebula, emphasized the necessity of responsible artificial intelligence in strengthening healthcare systems. The partners are now finalizing a joint action plan to operationalize these technologies, aiming to build regional capacity through standardized training and data-driven diagnostic support.
