United Bancorporation Posts 26% Quarterly Profit Surge

With net income climbing to $5.8 million for the second quarter of 2026, Atmore-based United Bancorporation of Alabama has signaled a sharp upward trajectory. The financial holding company outperformed its year-ago figures by 26.1%, fueled by sustained deposit growth and a significant increase in earnings per share.

The company’s latest financial disclosure reveals that earnings per share reached $1.91 for the three-month period ending June 30, marking a 40.4% improvement over the $1.36 reported during the same quarter in 2025. This quarterly momentum contributed to a robust six-month performance, with total net income hitting $11.3 million—a 21.5% rise compared to the first half of the previous year.

Beyond these earnings, the bank maintained a streak of four consecutive quarters of deposit growth. As a $1.4 billion financial holding company and certified Community Development Financial Institution, United Bancorporation operates 23 locations across Southwest Alabama and Northwest Florida. Its focus remains on leveraging New Markets Tax Credits and affordable housing programs to drive economic development in underserved regions.
