Pomerantz LLP Launches Investigation Into Olin Corporation

A sharp 16.51% drop in Olin Corporation's stock price following a disastrous plant shutdown has triggered a formal investigation by Pomerantz LLP. The firm is scrutinizing whether the chemical manufacturer and its leadership engaged in securities fraud or unlawful business practices that harmed shareholders during the second quarter.

The investigation centers on a July 30 disclosure regarding an unplanned shutdown of a vinyl chloride monomer plant in Freeport, Texas. Olin executives reported that the mechanical failure slashed second-quarter adjusted EBITDA by $40 million. Furthermore, the company warned investors to expect an additional $20 million financial hit in the third quarter as operations slowly return to full capacity.

Following the announcement, Olin shares tumbled $3.66, closing at $18.51 on July 31, 2026. Investors who suffered losses are now being urged to contact Danielle Peyton at Pomerantz LLP to discuss potential participation in a class action lawsuit. The firm, which maintains offices globally, is currently evaluating whether internal disclosures accurately reflected the company’s operational risks prior to the market downturn.
