The financing round saw continued support from existing investors Industrifonden and Navigare Ventures. Pixelgen’s core innovation, the Proxiome Kit, utilizes the Proximity Network Assay to map molecular architecture at nanoscale resolution. Unlike traditional proteomic methods that focus strictly on protein abundance, this technology allows researchers to observe how proteins cluster and localize on cell surfaces, offering deeper insights into disease mechanisms and treatment responses.
To manage this growth, the company is bolstering its board of directors with two industry veterans: Flat Capital CEO Rickard El Tarzi and entrepreneur Ramon Felciano. El Tarzi, who previously helped guide Olink Proteomics through its sale to Thermo Fisher Scientific, brings expertise in strategic scaling. Felciano, founder of Ingenuity Systems and former CTO at QIAGEN, will focus on integrating advanced data and AI capabilities into Pixelgen's platform. CEO Simon Fredriksson noted that this combination of financial backing and leadership experience is critical for transitioning the platform into a competitive advantage for research in oncology, immunology, and cell therapy.
