The accreditation enables KPMG PRI to apply ISO 14065 standards to the verification of greenhouse gas emissions and fuel output volumes. Under the Section 45Z program, tax credits are calculated based on a fuel’s lifecycle emissions rate, creating a direct financial incentive for manufacturers to lower their carbon intensity. Producers must now provide rigorous, third-party verified documentation to satisfy program requirements for fuels sold through the end of 2029.

By working alongside KPMG U.S., the firm plans to assist domestic producers in navigating the documentation and scrutiny required by the tax credit process.
