De Botton, known for works such as 'The Consolations of Philosophy' and 'Status Anxiety,' will contribute his perspective on the psychological drivers behind high-stakes decision-making. His inclusion marks a shift for the advisory firm, which serves global investors and corporations, toward integrating human behavior and cultural analysis into traditional market intelligence.

Lord Hague highlighted the philosopher’s capacity to illuminate human dynamics as a key asset for the firm’s advisory work. For his part, de Botton emphasized that corporate strategy remains fundamentally human, shaped as much by internal culture as by external economic forces. Managing partner Thomas Ellis noted that the appointment reinforces the firm’s existing belief that grasping human motivation is as critical as analyzing politics or technology. The role is effective immediately.
