SecureNet Sues Flock Safety Over Surveillance Patent Portfolio

Seven core patents form the basis of a federal lawsuit filed by SecureNet Solutions Group against Flock Safety in the District of Delaware. SecureNet claims its proprietary framework for managing large-scale, sensor-driven surveillance data is being utilized without authorization across Flock’s entire product line, from automated license plate readers to crime center software.

SecureNet contends that its engineering team pioneered the architecture required to scale surveillance networks beyond the constraints of traditional, localized systems. These patented innovations focus on event-driven operations and the coordination of distributed devices, allowing security platforms to handle increasing volumes of sensor input and complex data streams.

The litigation targets specific components of the Flock ecosystem, including its Vehicle Fingerprint technology, Raven audio-detection hardware, and the FlockOS Real-Time Crime Center platform. SecureNet asserts that this technology is foundational to Flock’s market offerings, alleging that the company knowingly integrated these protected methods into its connected infrastructure to manage and process information from networked security devices.
