United Airlines Adds Live Football Streaming to In-Flight Entertainment

Starting this week, United Airlines passengers can stream live professional and college football games directly on Starlink-equipped seatback screens. The partnership with DISH brings major networks, including ESPN, FOX, and CBS, to the skies, ensuring travelers remain connected to game-day action throughout the NFL and college football seasons.

The service is currently available on more than 220 mainline aircraft, covering approximately 700 flights daily. United plans to expand this capability to nearly 700 planes by the February championship game, offering free access to MileagePlus members across all classes of service. By leveraging DISH’s OnStream platform alongside high-speed Starlink connectivity, the airline aims to eliminate the need for fans to plan travel schedules around game broadcasts.

This initiative follows a broader investment in the passenger experience, which includes installing 4K OLED seatback screens across the fleet and hosting unique events like high-altitude fantasy football drafts. Beyond technology, the airline continues its deep ties to the sport through its 'Football Flies United' campaign and by operating over 200 team charter flights this season for 11 professional teams.
