Qtonic Quantum Launches Software-Only Post-Quantum Network Shield

Miami-based Qtonic Quantum Corp has released QShield, a software-based security layer designed to protect sensitive network traffic against future quantum computing threats. The tool aims to bridge the gap for enterprise and government organizations currently facing years-long migrations to comply with upcoming national security cryptographic standards.

QShield operates directly on existing Linux hosts, eliminating the need for dedicated encryption hardware. By utilizing ML-KEM-1024 for key establishment and ML-DSA-87 for authentication, the system aligns with the highest parameter sets specified in NIST’s post-quantum standards and CNSA 2.0 requirements. The software maintains a fail-closed architecture to ensure traffic is blocked if security conditions are compromised, with private keys remaining exclusively on the customer’s endpoints.

To demonstrate stability, the company completed a 72-hour endurance test across AWS availability zones in Oregon, recording 4,107 successful connectivity checks without a single failure or ping loss. Qtonic Quantum is offering the service through scoped, operator-led engagements, providing buyers with full access to run logs, build hashes, and verification tools. According to Col. Reginald M. Harris, a former Chief of Staff at U.S. Army Cyber Command, the platform offers a practical immediate defense for information that remains valuable to adversaries for decades. Organizations can now request demonstrations and commercial proposals for their specific infrastructure requirements ahead of the 2027 and 2030 federal compliance deadlines.
