Maid Brigade Outlines Fall Strategy to Reduce Indoor Allergens

As autumn signals a shift toward closed windows and longer hours spent indoors, Scottsdale-based Maid Brigade is urging homeowners to perform a comprehensive seasonal reset. The goal is to clear out accumulated summer dust and common allergens before the onset of cold and flu season changes the domestic environment.

Rick Yohn, brand leader at Maid Brigade, notes that preemptive cleaning helps families transition into the colder months with more comfortable living spaces. The company recommends targeting often-ignored surfaces such as ceiling fans, light fixtures, air vents, and baseboards to prevent the circulation of trapped particles once ventilation decreases.

Beyond overhead fixtures, the focus shifts to high-traffic touchpoints. Cabinet handles, faucets, television remotes, and light switches require frequent attention to maintain hygiene. Fabric surfaces, including upholstered furniture and headboards, also benefit from regular vacuuming to remove pet hair and odors. For pet owners, the company advises laundering beds and sanitizing feeding areas to mitigate dirt buildup.

To manage these tasks without harsh chemicals, the company promotes its PUREcleaning® process, which utilizes electrolyzed water. Yohn emphasizes that a truly sanitized environment does not require the heavy scents often associated with household cleaners, arguing that a clean home should ideally be scent-neutral.
