This agreement builds on a partnership dating back to 2020, positioning the modified Bombardier Challenger 650 aircraft as a central asset for military commanders. By utilizing a Contractor-Owned, Contractor-Operated model, Leidos manages the entire lifecycle of the platform, including mission systems, flight operations, and ongoing technical support. The system is designed to bridge the gap between commercial aircraft flexibility and military-grade sensing requirements.

Jason McCarthy, Leidos senior vice president for Airborne & Mission Solutions, noted that the platform allows commanders to maintain situational awareness against evolving threats. The contract was processed through the Army’s Common Hardware Systems-6 procurement vehicle, which facilitates rapid acquisition of C5ISR technology. With two additional option years available, the program remains a cornerstone of the company’s NorthStar 2030 strategy to bolster defense mission readiness.
